Welcome to Las Vegas! McCarran Airport is situated 8 kilometres from the business district of the city in the town of Paradise.

You've landed and you need to check in at your hotel. The 'Strip' is a mile from the airport and downtown Las Vegas is five miles away, so while you are willing to walk in the day time heat, you will need help with your luggage. Airport transport comes in all shapes and sizes and to suit all budgets. If you fancy kicking off your Las Vegas experience in style, limousine services can be investigated outside of exits 7 to 13 (north and west of baggage claim). The price of a limousine can range from 35 dollars up to 100 dollars for an hour depending on the type of limo and amenities you require.

Shuttle services in various forms and guises await newly arrived visitors at this same location. What kind of shuttle to get? If you require a shuttle to transport you over to Terminal 2 from 1, there is one on offer and it is free of charge. The bus stop at Terminal 1 is found on the 'Zero' level beneath baggage claim. The bus stop at Terminal 2 is situated outside the entrance for the ticketing lobby. The shuttle at Terminal 2 (the international and charter flights one) runs every fifteen minutes. The hotel shuttle from the airport costs 5 dollars and stops at numerous hotels.

If parking in the Economy Parking zone, there is a shuttle that runs for that, every fifteen minutes. The stop is at Terminal 1 Zero level immediately outside the doors.

A taxi fare up to the Venetian from the airport, will set you back about 14 dollars with an additional levy on all fares of one dollar twenty.

An alternative mode of transport involves embarking the slick Las Vegas monorail. At speeds of fifty miles per hour, it's a great way to travel quickly up the 'Strip' between the hours of 7am and 2am. Where specific hotels do not have stops, you can simply climb off at the nearest stop. Fares cost three dollars for a single and you can travel the full four miles of the 'Strip' in under fifteen minutes.

Who's up for the limo?
